ECIWO THERAPY IN TREATING SENILE CATARACTDr. Chen Qian
Abstract Senile cataract is one of the commonly encountered diseases occurring among senior citizens and it is one of the main causes of senile blindness. We have treated 12 patients suffering senile cataract with ECIWO therapy and have achieved satisfactory results.
We have combined ECIWO biology and ECIWO principles with traditional Chinese medical principles which hold that the condition of the kidneys determine the condition of the hair and the condition of the liver determines the condition of the eyesight. Therefore, in our clinical practice, we adopted both the head acupoint and the liver and kidney acupoints. After having been treated with ECIWO acupuncture for half a month to two months, the 12 patients enjoy an average naked eyesight improvement of 0.4. By now 7 months has passed and the curative effect proves to be stable. ECIWO therapy is a great development in the medical field. It is practicable and causes no complications or iatrogenic diseases. It is and will be of great benefit to human beings. Key words cataract; naked eyesight; ECIWO acupuncture; acupoint
Senile cataract is one of the commonly encountered diseases occurring among senior citizens and it is one of the main causes of senile blindness. By now, there have been no effective medicine to cure it or to prevent it from aggravating. For mature cataract, the only treatment is extraction. We have treated altogether 12 patients suffering senile cataract with ECIWO therapy and have achieved satisfactory results. Following are details.
Typical cases
1. Chen, male, 66, a retired worker in Jiangxi Local Product company, having suffered from cataract for two years. On Nov. 31, 1994, he was riding a bicycle when suddenly he felt a black stuff as big as a basket ball obstruct the view of his right eye. He had tried BAI NEI TING, but with little effect. On the next day, he came to the ophthalmology department of our hospital. A week before, he had received ECIWO acupuncture because of the suffering of sciatica and a four-time-treatment had cured him. So I suggested that we try ECIWO acupuncture. He agreed and I punctured the head acupoint and the liver acupoints on both of his SMS. 10 minutes later, he felt the black stuff disappeared. Both the patient and other people present were surprised and delighted. However, after the first acupuncture, the patient still felt that his two eyes didn't harmonize with each other. After 10 times of treatment, the patient felt his eyesight were normalized. I treated him for another 20 times to strengthen the effect. Eyesight test showed that the eyesight of both his two eyes was 1.2. The patient was very happy. By now, 7 months has passed and he has suffered no recurrence.
2. Xiao, male, 65, a retired worker in Jiangxi Provincial Supplies and sales company, having suffered from cataract and accompanying hypertension and arrhythmia of cordis for 10 years. He came to me on Feb.6, 1995. He had received ECIWO acupuncture before and a 25-daytreatment had enabled him to enjoy normal blood pressure and normal rhythm of the heart (tested by ECG ). Recently, he felt his eyes were dry and he couldn't see clearly. Eyesight test showed his eyesight were 0.08 (left) and 0.5 (right). We punctured the head ,liver and kidney acupoints on his SMS once a day, each time with the needle staying in the acupoints for an hour. 23 times later, the patient felt much better. Eyesight test showed that his eyesight were 0.4 (left) and 0.6 (right). We treated him for another 12 times to strengthen the effect and by now he has suffered no recurrence. Wang, male, 68, a retired worker in Jiangxi Provincial Supplies and Sales company, having suffered from cataract for 18 years. Before he came to me on Feb. 20, 1995, he had never been able to read without his glasses for the past 18 years. He couldn't even make out the biggest Min the eyesight test form. The naked eyesight of his left eye was 0.05 and his right eye could only feel the existence of light. We punctured the head, liver and kidney acupoints on his SMS. But he didn't feel obvious pain, ache, distension or numbness. So, apart from these acupoints, we punctured the head, liver and kidney acupoints on his radius. We used electric needle to strengthen the stimulation. We treated him once a day, one hour for each time. 21 times later, on March 17, the patient took off his glasses, picked up a newspaper and read out the words aloud. Everybody present was surprised. By now, he has suffered no recurrence.
4.Li, male, 59, a retired worker in Jiangxi Provincial Byproduct Company, having suffered from cataract for over 50 years. Ever since he contracted meningitis when he was 5 years old, he had suffered the pain of cataract and been able to see clearly. 6 years before, he had contracted cerebral thrombosis and therefore had been suffering the pain of hemiplegia and of accompanying hypertension. He had tried various kinds of treatment and his left arm was normalized , but his left leg wasn't. He often felt dizzy and he often fell to the ground when walking. Tests showed that the fluctuation of his blood pressure was 150-180/95-120 mmHg; his eyesight condition were: his left eye could only feel the existence of light and his right eyesight was 0.02. We selected the head, the liver ,the kidney and the lung acupoints on his SMS, his radius and his shin. We punctured these acupoints alternately. We treated him once a day, each time with the needles staying in the acupoints for 50 minutes. 4 days later, he felt better. After two months' treatment (with intervals), he could see more clearly¡ªhis naked eyesight were: his right eye could see the moving of a finger and his right eyesight was 0.03. Meanwhile, he felt strong and refreshed and could walk freely. His blood pressure was normalized and his shin was better than before. Half of his white hair turned black. Everybody was surprised at the miraculous effect.
Conclusion
ECIWO therapy is a great development in the medical field. It has found a shortcut for medical treatment. Our clinical practice has proved that ECIWO therapy is effective in treating cataract. It is easy to practice and costs less and causes no complications or iatrogenic diseases. We have combined ECIWO principles with traditional Chinese medical principles and have therefore achieved better results.
